Re: Lützow found near Kelheim/Germany
Quick translation of post #4: Unfortunately the final proof (e.g. pilot's i/d tags, Werk Nummer of the Me 262) is missing but the pieces found up until now are very powerful indications that this is the actual crash site of Günther Lützow. The pieces of the aircraft found so far are tiny. The most important find are the remains of a silver cigarette case on which, amongst other things, the enraving "Lützow" can be easily distinguished. Furthermore two buttons from a flying suit and a jacket fastening were found. Now one can only hope to find additional pieces of confirmation, in order to conclusively establish the fate of Günther Lützow.
That's my current state of knowledge which is covered extensively in the article. The discoveries were made by Markus Steinsdorfer with specialist support regarding the items found from Peter Schmoll.
