This is in the book, Spoden states the date was 27/12 for mission to the Bastogne-Metz-sedan-Verdun area.
Spodens JU 88 2z+fp was shot down by a young German flak crew, seems they mistaked his JU 88 as a Mosquito.
He stated the drive back to Schwabisch-Hall took several nights.
