45 years, and she's what, 25 years old and getting tremendous kudos for (finally) revealing all about the Battle of Britian? Which programme was she on? the Will Young programme presumably? His grandad was a bomber pilot IIRC...as for being 'well known and popular', the 'hype' surrounding her is a little OTT. Would I rather listen to (and look at) her than James Holland? I s'pose..perhaps, but hate being taken for an idiot..

Blimey, this thread must have more words already than the book itself! Whatever is said here, it is clear that the DEI industry is going all out for a big win with this one, even if the title doesn't appear to match the contents.

It's hardly the first time a title has been imperfectly informative either, and the simple addition of "and the Blitz" would have disposed of many of the objections raised here.

I bet that if the author had been "John Smith" the reception would have been much less effusive and more critical, if, indeed, the book had ever reached the stage of publication.

You clearly do not know me. My response would have been exactly the same as all I have written in this thread.

I was not referring to your response but to that of the mass media. I do not doubt that your response would have been the same.
