Re: US Airmen where buried ?
Many thanks Dennis, Yes that looks to be the correct Airman the newspaper cutting kindly provided by Rolland has the name and also that of "next of kin"(?) Safe as your fidagrave details.
Again I cannot understand how I could not get that from findagrave ? Anyway only one left Airman Bedford. What I have: Pvt. William V "Bill" ,BEDFORD - 39303940 - 49th FG. Born - 1918. Enlisted at Fort Lewis, Washington, on 11th October, 941 Single. After this he must have gotten married to a Stella L , Bedford as she is noted as his NoK. who resided at 260 N, Laguna Street, Klamath Falls, Klamath County, Oregon. May have been his mother ? His remains were returned to the USA to Stella (seenewspaper cutting). So would have been buried locally I would have thought. However although there are a few Stella List buried at Klamath Falls, none have the name Bedford, nor are there any William V "Bill" Bedford 's that I could find via findagrave ![]() Help most welcome, Many thanks Alex Last edited by Alex Smart; 27th September 2025 at 03:22. |
