If the art work is really what the cover looks like then I will not be bothering

A B-17 ish plane, drawn by someone that has never seen one and is working from a brief description

They could have at least tried for a B-24

I agree. A slowly growing trend is bad cover art. While I understand the need to control costs, specialists are right to point this out.
One author has done this consistently and, in his case, this also applies to black and white line drawings inside the books.
