I have a squadron leader posted to the following D.T.O Department of A.M.P.D (MAP)

Can anyone please tell me what this means !!

The last bit is Ministry of Aircraft Production, I think.

If you have your Squadron Leaser's name then you could try the RAF list for the year in question. These are available online at the National Library of Scotland.

Alternatively, TNA has the Ministry’s organisational directories in AVIA 33/1, so I guess the answer might be in there somewhere.
