Albert Schulz of NJG 2 & NJG 3

Hi Fellow enthusiasts

Would anybody happen to know this pilots exact units over time. He was allegedly Kommandeur of IV./NJG 3 from 9th October 1943 until his death on 30th January 1944.

I have found a claim with 3./NJG 2 for a B-17 on 14th October 1943 at 1456 hrs, I would swear the name is Hauptmann Schulz, logically this would be Hauptmann albert Schulz, I suspect the date of him becoming Kommandeur of IV./NJG 3 is in error, and that he was actually Staffelkapitän of 3./NJG 2 at the time.

Any comments?

Kind Regards

Johannes

Does this help?

St Kap.1./NJG 2
Oblt Herbert Bönsch To Stab./NJG 2 Nov 41
Oblt Albert Schulz Nov 41-Nov 42 (becomes 5./NJG 2)

But Hptm. Eberhard Jacob was listed as Staffelkapitän 3./NJG 2 June 43 to Jan 44. On this date 14-10-43 Jacob claimed a B17 near Mergentheim, unit 3./NJG 2 was given.

Hi Guys

Many thanks for your input.

When I read the originally mikrofilms I had a real problem identifying this claim, but suspect I attributed it to the Staffelkapitän i.e Jacob(but Eduard 24/09/1911-27/09/1995 formerly with 11./KG 30)), but now I have an electronic copy I have isolated and zoomed-in on the claimant and it's Schulz. Bakerman what is your source?, and how accurate are Staffelkapitän listing I wonder.

Kind Regards

Johannes

Re: Albert Schulz of NJG 2 & NJG 3

Thanks Guys for your input.

NJG 1 had the authority to second pilots from other NJG units instantly, though I have never heard this for any other NJG units, but perhaps Albert Schulz was just covering for a short period, and this was a "Day" claim, perhaps that had something to do with it.

Kind Regards

Johannes
