What happened to F/Lt Miroslav Budil
F/Lt Miroslav Budil Spitfire Mk IX, MK248 (DU-R). shot down by German fighters (JG26) at 19:15 hrs. It crashed 3 km south of Zarren (approx. 14 km NW of Roeselare), West Flanders.
CWGC records provide the following official details:
(KU-1507 pg 10-11) There is a reference For Budil to KUJ-879 but i dont have that one. Dead men dont walk so what happened? |

Hello Snautzer,
82541 was the service number of F/Lt František Cigoš, a pilot of 311 Sqn. F/Lt Bohuslav – not Miroslav – Budil, service number 82539, was shot down and taken prisoner on 19 April 1944. He survived the war and died on 11 Feb 1990. Regards Leo |

He was shot down by Major Karl Borris (Commandant I./JG 26 "Schlageter") 30th victory?
