Oblt Gerhard Böhme, I./NGJ 2 (1941-45)

Hi,

I would like to have more details about the career of Oblt Gerhard Böhme (DOB: 11.10.17), who served with I./NJG 2 from 1941 to 1945. Available information confirms only one victory, but other sources mention two. Apparently, he died before the end of the war, in 1945, though without details. Could anyone help fill in these gaps?

Thank you in advance!
Franklin

I found two photos of Böhme with his radio operator, Ofw. August “Emmes” Hiltrop (on the left).

From what I can see both in the photos are NCOs and Böhme flew as an officer with NJG 2

Chris, all of this is your fault. I bought your book Luftwaffe Intruder Operations Over the United Kingdom. Absolutely unmissable. I just couldn’t put it down.

Then I decided to buy a Corgi Ju 88 diecast to place next to the book. Then I started researching the Ju 88 crew… and then… 😄

Hi

Only known claim to myself was a Whitley on 3rd January 1942 over the North sea at 1850 hrs. He was flying for 3./NJG 2.

Regards

Johannes
