Hurricane P3535 - Sqn Ldr George Fidler

Interesting article in the Times (and many other news sources) today about the discovery of the wreck of a Hurricane by workers building a new canal at Oisy-le-Verger.
The body of the pilot was still in the cockpit.
Investigation by the JC&CCC team led to his identification as Sqn Ldr George Fidler. He will be buried in France on 19 May, the anniversary of his death.

It should be noted that his identification was circumstantial. Neither he nor his siblings had children, so there were no relatives to DNA test. Other possible pilots were excluded by DNA.
