I think we now have the full picture, thanks to you .

The full story is that the grand niece of Werner Bauch contacted us as she knew nothing about the fate of her grand uncle, and she wanted have details about him and his end.

She is now delighted by all the information she got. we have maybe even found the crash site, however still to be confirmed, and she contemplates coming to Provence in memory of her grand uncle.

well done, mates. the strength of the forum is amazing, as usual.

quick update :

• investigation progressing well,
• crash site has been identified,
• local testimonies have been gathered (very precise and moving)
• Werner Bauch was pursued and shot down by allied aircraft, probably Mustangs, (see latest post on this topic)
• Werner Brauch bailed out and was killed.
• his Bf109 crashed in a vineyard;
