Signing in problem
Hi !
Recently I have found that I now have to sign in when I want to access the forum. For a long time I have been signed in and was signed in when I next returned to the forum as at some time ago members were able to remain signed in permanently . This option now seems to have been removed ? Problem is that when in middle of a post I find that for some reason I am signed out, so have to signe in again and start my post all over again. Anyone else having same problem? Alex |

Re: Signing in problem
Yep!
However, I have found that after signing in again, if I back click several times, it takes me back to the post I was working on. Jim |

Working to resolve the issues - short term and long term.
Short term, clean up, optimization and shifting some of the load from the database to the files system. Also asked service provider why they are limiting / throttling the database at 50% of the documented maximum size. Long term, friends of the forum are looking into migrating and upgrading the forum - which is a good thing for support, features and most importantly new members etc. Right now we should have some good performance at least until the next step. Regards, Ruy |

Rest assured that Ruy and others are working on this as best they can; more updates no doubt to come

Re: Signing in problem
Many thanks Ruy for the reply.
Great news that the forum looks to having a great future ahead. If finance becomes a problem Don't back off from asking the members for help. We all(I am sure) want the forum to survive well into the future. Best wishes Alex |

Re: Signing in problem
We may have been looking in the wrong place.
This week we were predominantly looking at the database, but today I found that the domain forwarding was playing a major role. direct access - fast access and forum performance domain forwarding - poor or no access I've now removed the old forwarding config and re-entered them, also did a dns refresh. Sounds more complicated than it is, basic site settings provided by the service provider. Let's see if this lasts. If anything it has been a good refresher in how the forum works. |
