Certainly, shelf space was all but eliminated during the binge buying of the Covid years. Over the past four years I was forced to exploit the area between the top of the shelf and the ceiling. Today, some space STILL exists for 2-3 books between the top edges of unit histories and the bottom edge of the next shelf if you carefully slide the book horizontally into these fissures.
