The photos were taken in Heeresgruppe Mitte during Barbarossa. My grandfather's line of march with the Luftwaffe took him to the following places, so it seems likely the Il-4 was found at an airport/aerodrome along this route:

29-06-41:- Slusk
06-07-41:- Bobruisk on the Beresina
09-07-41 to 09-08-41:- Stary Bichow on the Dnepr
12-08-41 to end Aug.41:- Ponjatowka near Roslawl
02-09-41 to 03-10-41:- Schatalowka + Seshchinskaya
09-10-41:- Paumowa
15-10-41 to 20-10-41:- Juchnow
26-10-41 to 13-11-41:- Malojaroslawez on the Protwa
