John,
Haffers was flying a Fw 190A when he was shot up by a Yak-1 of 106 GuIAP and force-landed in Soviet-held territory. This happened on 3 July 1943 near Kupiansk. Haffers told the Soviets that he had previously worked as a test-pilot for Focke-Wulf. That's all I know. Also trying to figure out which sub-type he was flying because he was caught unaware while strafing ground targets. It may have been a A-4/U3 or A-5/U3. Thanks for your help.
