Re: Walter Schuck Book

I understand this is not related to the previously mentioned Christer Bergstroem's project? Is it a pure memories book?

Re: Walter Schuck Book

Horst,
Looking further down the road, are there any plans for an English translation of this book?

Frank.

Re: Walter Schuck Book

I haven't seen the book, so I can't comment on it, but I'm guessing there is no longer a Christer Bergstrom project with Schuck. I remember Christer profusely advertising the Schuck project here and on his website, and suddenly there was no mention of it anymore anywhere. I think there must have been a disagreement or something at the last minute. I'm certainly hoping I'm wrong here, because Christer is a good writer and if he would have had a hand in the project, I think the final product would have been written in English.

On the other hand, Christer is advertising a book on two aces from JG54 on his website. Anybody have any idea who they might be?

Frank, we have to wait and see what the German market says to the book. When it is accepted by experts, from which I am personally convinced, it will surely be translated into English.

All the best, Horst

Re: Walter Schuck Book

Hi Horst,

I've been in Germany for the last week and dropped into Christian Scmidt books yesterday in Munich, and bought a copy of Walter Schuck's new book. The quality of the printing and photographs is great. There are several which are a little blurred but this is mostly down to war time quality of the original.

My German is o.k, not perfect, but from what i have seen i am very happy with it. You showed me the manuscript at Aces High Gallery about 8 weeks ago, but it didn't do justice to the finished article. A very nice book with a lot of unpublished photographs, i look forward to the English translation. Well done and worth every Euro!

In the name of Walter Schuck I want to thank you for your interest in his book "Abschuss!", from which the first issue, 1.500 copies were sold out after 10 weeks on the market due to your friendly request.

All the best, Horst Kube

Hi Horst,

Congratualtions on the sales! With the book becoming ever popular does this mean we can see an English version in the near future? Any chance of speculating over a time scale. All the best and continued good luck with the book. David.

David, thank you very much for your friendly words, which will encourage us to be better than...

Yes, we are looking forward to find an English and/or American publisher, who can satisfy our overseas friends in translating this book insofar as bringing the superb written adventures of this great fighter pilot nearer to a bigger "reader-auditorium."

Thanks again and all the best, Walter and Horst

Yes, the book is filled with Walter Schucks life as a WW II fighter pilot, his individual memories on Carganico, Bartels, Rudi Müller, Ehrler, Weißenberger a.s.o., and his experiences with the Me 109 and Me 262 during his aerial combats.

Regards, Horst
