Only a suggestion but it happened sometimes that if unit A was subordinated to unit B, it was unit B that filed the loss report.
This could happen with reconnaissance units because often Staffeln from different Gruppen were controlled by whichever FAG Stab was in the locality. (In the West in 1944, Stab FAG 123 for example).
