Re: Details on Anton Freiberger - flugzeugfuhrer in a Jagdgeschwader
Obfw Anton Freiberger is shown in JG 26 War Diary vol 2 as bailing out with serious burns and two broken legs on 10th. Dec 1944 and dying of his injuries in April 1945. He was flying Fw 190A-8 738134 white 7 of 1/JG 26 and fell to P 47s of the 373 FG at 1545 hrs at Duren-Eschweiler.
I think the translation is approx. 'died in a reserve Hospital at Menden-Islerlohn on Rhein following severe wounding'. Regards Brian Bines |
