Loss, 2./N.S.Gr.4, 18.01.1945, Ju 87D-3 WNr 131795

Hi, Guys.

Please review loss record at:

http://www.ahs.no/ref_db/lw_loss_pub...p?lossid=24558

What was the real fate of this crew? It seems that the 'they were unhurt' message came before the correction of 16.02.1945 stating that they were killed....

Any help appreciated for finalizing data entry on this one.

Regards,
Andreas

Re: Loss, 2./N.S.Gr.4, 18.01.1945, Ju 87D-3 WNr 131795

It gets worse...

Someone (Dave Wadman I think) once sent me some data extracted from Luftflotte 6's own loss records, saying that Ahlers and Wyschka were flying WNr. 100040 rather than 131795, 1K+CK and were killed in an "Absturz vor Landung" (rather than a "Bruchlandung") at Koersitz bei Oberglogau during a ferry flight. What's even worse is that 100040 is described as a "D-5 Nacht VII" when AFAIK all the 100 series were D-3s.

Ahlers rank is given as Fhj.-Uffz. and damage as 99%, not 100%

Now it's all perfectly clear!

Hi All,

I have an additional loss on the same day of 2./NSGr 4 a Ju 87 D-3 NACHT VII with the WNr. 100060 at Körnitz. Pilot and Bordfunker unhurt.

Could it be just a mixup?

On the other hand somtimes reading those loss reports a 3 could easily be missidentified as a 5. Especially when the copy is rather poor, which some of the film indeed is.

This is what makes this research so much fun. You become a detective.

Very exciting stuff.

Regards,

Norbert

Hi, Nick.

This could be explained by the fact that they might have first crashed the one I have records of, and later have been killed in the other aircraft.

Will see what I can get from the Luftflotte 6 data myself also.

Cool! Nothing better than a mystery!

Andreas

Hello Andreas!

I have also both 10060 and 131795 in connection with Ahlers and the 18th
of January.
Also the material from Lfl. 6 have the same informations.
Would be nice, to have the WASt. informations for that guy.
Dirk
