Loss of 1./KG27 He111 at "Luere Vogesen" France 17.7.40
Hello,
I am coding into a data base two photos of plane wreckage in a forrest that is captioned on the back that it is a He111 of 1./KG27 which crashed at "Luere Vogesen" on 17.7.40. In consulting with the "Battle of Britain: Then and Now." I find a listing that matches this with the place listed as "Luere-Vogesen." I find places in France named Luere and ones named Vegesen, but they don't seem near each other. Can anyone tell me where this is supposed to be? The caption provides new information that this was aircraft 1G+DH. Thanx,
