Re: Battle for Kiev 1943: VVS order of battle

Thanks to NBE1942 & Henry, we get more details slowly:
  • 5.ShAK (4.GShAD, 264.ShAD), eq.Il-2
  • 5.IAK:
    8.GIAD: 40.GIAP, 41.GIAP,
  • 927IAP&88.GIAP eq. (La5)
    256IAD: 728IAP eq. Jak-7B, 91IAP eq. Jak-1, 32.IAP
  • 10.IAK
    235IAD: 3GIAP&181IAP eq.La5, 239IAP
    201IAD
    aka 10GIAD: 13IAP aka 111GIAP &437IAP aka 113GIAP eq.La5FN, 236IAP aka 116GIAP (Jak1)
  • 202 BAD: ?
  • 227,291ShAD, eq.Il-2
  • 208NBAD, eq. Po-2
  • 50RAP: ?
I think the promotions of 201IAD and its IAPs to Guards did happen after Kiev (?). Gotta check the allaces-site, but time is running and I have to work on the map-projects for PF and... life is always like some rockstar once said: "So many girls, so little time "

Still AF's would be interesting... couldn't find names in Woroshekins biography...

Is there a site liek www.ww2.dk for the VVS?

Hello!

Not as comprehensive, but a good start for the organizational structure:
http://www.allaces.ru/cgi-bin/s2.cgi...truct/main.dat

It's all in Russian so knowing the cyrillics (at least) is of help.

Cheers,
Kari

Re: Battle for Kiev 1943: VVS order of battle

The final result which I will use for my planetable is this:
  • 5.ShAK::
    4.GShAD: 90,91,92GShAD eq.Il-2
    264.ShAD: 235, 451, 809, 6 ShAP eq.Il-2
  • 5.IAK::
    8.GIAD: 40.GIAP&41.GIAP, 927IAP&88.GIAP eq. (La5)
    256IAD: 728IAP eq. Jak-7B, 91IAP eq. Jak-1, 32.IAP Jak7B
  • 10.IAK::235IAD: 3GIAP&181IAP, 239IAP (La5)201IAD aka 10GIAD: 13IAPaka111GIAP & 437IAPaka113GIAP eq.La5FN, 236IAPaka116GIAP (Jak1)
  • 202 BAD: 32GBAP&39BAP eq.Pe-2, 797BAP (?)
  • 227ShAD:61, 241, 525, 567 ShAP eq.Il-2
  • 291ShAD: 245, 954, 61, 241, 617 ShAP eq.Il-2
  • 208NBAD, 620,646NBAP eq.R-5, 715,719NBAP eq. Po-2
  • 50RAP: Pe-2
  • 4SanAP: Po2, Li2 (?)
  • 1554, 1555, 1605 TrAP: Li-2, Tb-3 (?)
From that I estimated the following numbers for the OOB for the game PF:
140La5F
40La5FN
40Jak1b
40Jak7b
80Pe2
300Il-2with r.g. (10% 37mm)
100Po-2
60DC-3 (transports w/o gunner)

Looking forward for the Kiev- map . Afaik, the city itself will be modeled nicely. I hope we get similar good results for the Luftwaffe side...

Thanks to all for the support! I really like this forum ...

Re: Battle for Kiev 1943: VVS order of battle

On November 6th, Rudorffer claimed 13 kills : Yak-7 + Yak-9.

From what I read in the previuos posts, shall we assume that the "Yak-9" were not properly identified, most likely being Yak-1B or the "cut-down fuselage" Yak-7B ?

Re: Battle for Kiev 1943: VVS order of battle

I could imagine that the units had mixed types, maybe even Yak1, Yak9 and Yak7. At least it was no uncommon that IAPs had mixed equipment of Yak9 and Yak7.
