..Eckardt may well have lost his life on the ground..Plattling was strafed by P-51s on 17 April..a number of pilots & ground crew were killed and some twenty IV./JG 300 fighters went up in smoke..

Perhaps from his translation from french to english of the Two Vol JG300 history written by Lorant and Goyat and published by Eagle Editions Ltd. A whole lot of good info in these books Andy...

You will not be disappointed if you buy these books Andy, Some of the best reading on a Unit ever written, well researched and beautiful photos and profiles. Go for it on pay day!
