Re: Amazing what you can find in the ground.

I'm pretty sure that it is.........is it my imagination or is it still with flying helmet and parachute? I wonder if there is any ID tag that could assist with ID for German War Graves people - or whether info has already been passed on?

A very interesting and well presented site nonetheless.

David

The picture of the pilot is not German but Russian and has nothing to do with the Ju87 dig.

From a Norwegian friend in 2003.

Hurricane Z2768 of 768 IAP PVO. Pilot Sgt Boris Aleksandrovich Lazarev. Shot down by Bf 109 of 6./JG 5 40 km N Loukhi. Wreck and remains of pilot found August 1998 by search group "Vysota" (Viktor Dudin). Sgt Lazarev (born 1921) put to rest at a war memorial at Chupa, Karelia. Wreck recovered to the Central War Historical Museum (TsVIM) at Poklonnoj near Moscow.

regards

Mark
