Re: Info on RAF claims MTO eight dates in 1944

I can't help with claims over Yugoslavia but as far as Italy is concerned:

3 April 1944: see http://www.ghostbombers.com/JG2/jg2frame.html

3 July 1944: F/O Moubray of 238 Squadron shot down a Bf 109 of JG 77; a Beaufighter of 600 squadron shot down two Ju 87s of NSG 9

6 August 1944: a Beaufighter of US 414th NFS shot down a Ju 88 of FAG 122

9 August 1944: a Beaufighter of 255 Squadron shot down a Ju 88 of FAG 122

More details of all but the first of those in:

I don't think so any of these dates covers RAF claims over Yugoslavia. The nearest for Yugoslavia are 7/4/44 and 8/8/44.

Thank you Nick

I had forgot to look at your book on the Air War Over Italy 44-45 and your web site. The dates I am now interested in are the ones below:-

6-4-44 Ju88 shot down SW of Anzio by 4 Spitfires?
15-4-44 Me 410 shot down near Ortona? Spitfires
9-5-44 Ju 88 shot down 120m N-N-W of Tolmeta(on recon of Crete) Beaufighter?
6-8-44 Ju88 55m W-N-W of Ajaccio Beaufighter(255Sqn?)

Regards

David

Re: Info on RAF claims MTO eight dates in 1944

Me 410A-3 +RK of 2.(F)/122 (Werk Nummer 170098; full code almost certainly F6+RK) was shot down at 07.30 hours on 15 April 1944. The crew were Uffz Albert Allrich (pilot, KIA) and Uffz. Erwin Lehmann (observer, KIA). They’d taken off from Perugia at 06.44 hours.

The Ju 88 shot down of Ajaccio on 6 August 1944 was the one in my first post, shot down by an American night fighter.
