What kind of data does the mentioned KTB include? Is is available in CD or such "easier" format? From where? Price?
Is it a worthwhile source for Eastern Front reconnaissance units? My interest centers mainly around the Luftflotte 1 ones.

Thanking in advance,
Kari

Kari,

The last official report, what I found in BA-MA about the Nahaufklärung untits (all fronts, all units) mentions still Cirava and Okte and the disband of the NAG 5:

Nahaufklärung frontverbände stand 25.3.45

Lfl. 1
NAG 5 Cirava Bf 109(Gruppe wird aufgelöst):
1./NAG 5 Cirava Bf 109
2./NAG 5 Okte Bf 109

Hello!

Thanks you all fellows! It's pity that there is nothing for the Summer 1944 where my main interest lays.

Keep up the good work,

Kari

Re: War Diary of the General der Auklärungsflieger

Kari,

I'm an Aufklärer fan as well and for the summer, 1944, I have few additional details about NAG 5's air victories.

the
1./5 shot down 9 aircraft and 3 Fesselballone
and the
2./5 shot down 12 aircraft and 1 Fesselballon
till 1 July, 1944.

Unfortunately, I have no pilot names and exact dates. They scored all of these kills with Bf 109's. I guess, this is their total success in the first six month of 1944.

The Nahaufklärung units' kills with Bf 109's and Fw 190's is again a neglected topic, altough they scored hundreds of kills...

Dear Nick,

Is there anything in the KTB on the Me 262 recce units? Manfred Boehme might be interested in this.

Regards,
Richard

Some, although each entry is usually no more than a sentence.

I put the 1./NAG 1 stuff into my website article. There are also a couple of references to NAG 6 and a reference to a (sadly missing!) appendix that was a report on operational experiences by Braunegg.
