Re: Adamoli and Caproni Ca 101

Franck

I have nothing on Engineer Carlo Adamoli and a Ca 101, but I know that he used a Ca 111 reg I-ACIA and together with a colleague named Bassi and an unnamed flight engineer, started on an African expedition on Oct 19th, 1934 to find berylium mines. Their trip went to Eritrea-Somaliland-Tanganyika-Mozambique-Madagascar and finally Rhodesia (Salisbury). The raid ended in the spring of 1935 after covering some 38000 miles. No mention is made of any visit to South Africa though...

I believe your sources are faulty somewhere and that this is both the man and the trip you are after

Cheers
Stig
