Is that a smashed 262 fuselage lying on the ground beside the Ar 96?

The vendor's caption "WWII German FW-190 and ME-109 Graveyard" is, as usual, slightly misleading!

Arrghhh, I looked at all the posted photos earlier, thinking I had missed one. I saw that one but nothing jumped out at me as a 262, but now all I get is a "Page unavailable".

Re: Photos 3-26

The link from Ed's second posting still works so it must be a problem from when I copied the URL into my post. But anyway, I've attached the photo here.

OMG, it's not just one, but TWO 262's. look farther down the road.

Any idea of location? They are new to me!

Ooops, the one down the road may be a 190, it's awful hard to tell.

Dan, try to breathe slowly and deeply!

No idea of a location, the pencilled caption on the reverse just says "wrecked German planes."

LMAO, thanks Nick, I don't get treats like this every day. Totally unknown location.

Re: Photos 3-26

Hey guys,

That last photo was taken at Fürth. In the background is the fuselage of Fw 190 A “8+ White” up on its nose; the one with JG 301's reversed RV bands that I first published in AIRFOIL #3, page 32. This is a great shot because it is from the back side of the others I have seen.

F19Gladiator is on a distinguished road
Re: Photos 3-26

Is it a set of Me 262 wings to the left of the road?
Regards,
Goran

Re: Photos 3-26

The Ar 96 seems to have two colored bands on the rear fuselage : if it is true, JG 301 or JG 7 ?

Re: Photos 3-26

Von Alles,

I'll dig out my Fürth color slides and confirm the bands on Ar 96 “56+ I Yellow.” If I remember correctly, however, I think it's just a single band?
