Re: RCAF photo set

The USN were to operate Dirigibles from Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. A derrick was constructed for mooring purposes. On the first attempted use, a gust of wind blew the derrick over and it crushed the USN dirigible. The USN cancelled all future plans for operations from Canada.

A veteran in Winnipeg, whom I interviewed, witnessed the accident.
