It's Creil in France. I think "Crail" is in Scotland!

Hello

Many thanks. The good one seems to be 8/KG53 or S3+AH and any further information will be greatly appreciated.

Regards

Re: He 111 loss 22nd August 1944 France

NVM for 8/KG53 shows 'Crail Frankreich 22.8.1044 after crashlanding on Flugplatz Crail, by Ruckmarsch to base at Le Bourget vermisst' Ff Uffz. Franz Lechner, B Ogef. Josef Zielger. Bf Uffz. Walter Hunlich Bs Gef Albert Sames all missing.
For S3+AH ' Flzg He 111 w.n. 701475 Crail/Frankr. 22-8-1944 .Crashed Flugauftrag: Versorgung dch Abwurfbeh. f. eingeschl. Truppe. cause Fighter attack' FF Fw. Manfred Bittner, Bw Fw Heinz Fritsch, Bd
Fw Franz Kordys wounded.

Following on from a previous thread on Crew abbreviations I assume Bw is Bordwart (Bm), and Bd is Borddienst indicating a Air-gunner who has not had the full training of a Bs. Any correction/information appreciated,

Regards

RT is an unknown quantity at this point
Re: He 111 loss 22nd August 1944 France

As we found many crews of the 8.KG53 in the Tgr.30, we could assume that 8.KG53 ended up in the Tgr.30
