Re: Another fake?
I cannot comment on the authenticity of the photo, but disc shaped aircraft were developed. One individual associated with their development was Dr. Richard Miethe. That he worked for the United States Air Force post-war was confirmed by former Secretary to the Air Force, Dr. Alexander Flax on the TV program Sightings. Another individual associated with wartime development is J. Andreas Epp who has written a book. http://www.efodon.de/html/publik/do/edo25.htm
Dr. Miethe was associated with the A.V. Roe company in Canada. A document dated 1955 was released under the Freedom Of Information Act: Air Technical Intelligence Center T55-2049. It showed a three view drawing of a disc shaped aircraft designated Project Silver Bug or Y2. The cover of Mechanix Illustrated of March, 1956 shows a painting of this craft: "U.S. Air Force Reveals Our Flying Saucer." The associated article was written by Willy Ley, a German who wrote other articles, being an expert on rockets and missiles. Ed |
