Was Florennes a Bodenplatte target?
Hello,
I have wondered for many years why Florennes Airbase - A-78- wasn't planned for the 1st January 1945 attack. For some reasons, it would have been an interesting target as: - it was built and used more than two and an half years by the Luftwaffe (mainly by I./NJG 4, I./JG 26 too). - it was well within the range of the German fighters. - It was the homebase of the 370th, 474th FG and 422nd NFS, all supporting directly the Battle of the Bulge. Was this target cancelled before Bodenplatte? Hope to read you Best regards ClinA-78 |
