Summit

Guys

Can someone out there please advise me on where or what Summit is (I'll assume an airfield, but where?)

This is in relation to aircraft movements in the ME

TIA

Buz

Larry is on a distinguished road
Summit airfield, Sudan

Buz,

Summit was an airfield in Sudan, about 60 miles south west of Port Sudan on the Red Sea coast, beside the railway line that goes across Sudan to Khartoum. it was near the airfields of Wadi Gazouza & Erkowit. Gebeit airfield was about 10 miles up the railway.

Gladiators of 112 Sqn used Summit in June 1939 and Blenheims of 45 Sqn used the airfield in June 1940.

I hope this helps
