Re: Whirlwind L6845, code, HE-V
What little info. I have,
L6845 Second prototype, Delivered to No. 25 Squadron at North Weald May 30, 1940 and transferred later to No. 263 Squadron at Drem. Wrecked in a flying accident June 11th 1941 after 98 flying hours. P6969 Service in No. 263 Squadron from July 1940 coded HE-V. Missing from a flight Feb. 8, 1941. Regards, Mike |

Re: Whirlwind L6845, code, HE-V
Hi
Thanks for the reply & info. L6845 went back to westlands, between Oct 40 & Mar 41, then back to 263Sq. So I am wondering if it took up the code of P6969 on it's return, until the time of the flying accident. just hoping to find where the decal manufacturer got the info from. Cheers Jerry |
