This is extremely sad news. I saw Pete Brothers just 3 days before his death and was pleased that he looked so well, considering he had recently broken his hip as a result of a fall.

He was the epitome of a Battle of Britain Ace, charming and totally modest and unassuming about his war time exploits, as well as with regards to his post war career.

I will miss our chats and his never ending cigars!

The World will be a poorer place without him.
