Hi John and Alan,
thank you for correcting my error. A re-check of the document confirms that 'O Arnheim' is correct. Alan, attached is a map showing where Planquadrat HN8 is (note - '8' is the middle square, bottom row within HN). 'O Arnheim' is short for 'Ost Arnheim', or 'East of Arnhem'. If the claim location is correct, then it seems that Schäfer is probably your man... 'Ausflug' (I believe) means that the claimed aircraft was on it's outward flight, as opposed to the homeward flight. 'Quakenbrück. 1 Abschuss b. Kurfurst', this probably means that Quakenbrück was the perceived target, and '1 victory by Kurfurst', or '1 victory near radio beacon Kurfurst' Cheers Rod Last edited by RodM; 15th February 2010 at 01:47.
