I was looking at Tony Woods list of the II/JG54 who where in the Orel area on 09Au43 and Gerhard Loos 1./JG54 was in Kharkov area on the 09Aug43 from the claims list. There are no claims for those two units on the 10Aug43 maybe because the list is incomplete but 297 IAP seems to have taken several losses in this incident. I believe the Russian pilots referred to the Bf109 as the Skinny's but if German pilots can misid I guess the Russians can too. It would be interesting to know where these FW 190's went down. Possibly a motor problem could be from getting hit by a La-5 and not making it back.
