Re: Luftwaffe crash site Newcastleton scotland
There is a short description of the action in John Foreman’s Air War 1941 Part 2. According to Foreman one (Z3079) of the two chasing Hurricanes crash-landed due to an oil leak at Longtown and the other (Z3031) was force-landed due to combat damage after its pilot F/L Du Vivier had shot down the Ju. Both pilots were unharmed. And then a question, how badly were Hurricanes damaged?
