In what volume on the new updated 2nd Tactical Air Force by C.Shores is the information about the evening air combat between No.443 RCAF squadron and 1/JG.1 FW-190 on June 16th 1944 over Sassy France.

Vol. 1, pgs 164 and 165. However, 443 Sq only claimed 109s in the morning.

In the evening 442 was bounced by 190s and lost 3 Spitfires with WC J.E. Johnson claiming a 190 in return.

Thanks for the note, there was late evenning air battle over the the town of Sassy between 443 and 1/JG.1 in which 4 Spitfires and three pilots were killed. But after the war based on the testimony of French townspeople and the wreckage of two Fw-190, I suspect they were shot-down during this battle, but since nobody claimed them they were not included in 443 score card.
