Re: Photos 8-16, part two

Could someone explain the chevron with the "H"?

Ed, thanks for the continued herculean efforts.

This aircraft looks similar to one described in Dr. Prien's "purple" volume 5, page 188, marked "< B + -" and belonging to Stab JG 27 during the winter 40-41.

More intriguing is the apparent personal bell marking painted beneath the cockpit.

Thanks Don for information,
I'm curious to compare both plane...
It's not in contradiction with datas I have (and I'm sure All have) concerning this kind of JG 27 markings :
Franzisket plane but very small A comparing this H.
Sinner <T on 109F.
Schroer <A (but white) on 109F.

Last, Yes, intriguing Bell marking. Hope to know more later (but quick!).

Regards,
Franck.

<H + -
Fuselage band? red?

A little bit larger and sharper.

Are those aerial victory markings / Abschussbalken on the rudder?

Re: Photos 8-16, part two

2./JG 3 used a bell insignia very much like this one, however the only photos I have show aircraft in 1939 in 70/71 camouflage.

It's amazing to see how someone would pay such a high price for a reproduction photo (that can pop up again in days or weeks).
