Re: Fw190A-6

My sources show this as an A-5 series. An example lost 17.8.43 with JG 1, wnr 710 014. Others with II./JG 1.

In Rodeike's book he indicates approx 25 machines built

Fw 190A-6

Hello Remi

This was an A-5 werknummer block (710 001 - 710 080) built by Fieseler at Kassel although Rodeike states that these aircraft were redesignated from 0157 376 - 0157 401 also built by Fieseler at Kassel and the series ended at 710 070. Leutnant Günther Scheel (71 victories, RK, missing in action 16 July 1943) of 2./JG 54 was lost in Fw 190 A-5 "Yellow 8" (W.Nr. 710 002) of 3./JG 54 after colliding in aerial combat with a Yak-9 fighter 12 kilometers northeast of Bolchow.

Horrido!

Leo

Re: Fw190A-6

This production batch ran from 71 0001 to 71 0015 + 71 0061 to 71 0070 = 25 aircraft, all A-5 by Fieseler who delivered a total of 250 Fw 190A-5 aircraft. The rest was given W.Nos. from 015 7201 and on.

Re: Fw190A-6

Since my last posting I have found aircraft production reports from Focke-Wulf Bremen and they differ considerably from other sources.
The production of FW 190A-5 by Fieseler is given as follows:
February 1943 = 42 FW 190A-5
March 1943 = 64 FW 190A-5
April 1943 = 46 FW 190A-5
May 1943 = 44 FW 190A-5
June 1943 = 1 FW 190A-5
This give a total of 197 FW 190A-5 (no U-8 or anything else)
From W.Nr. identifications I have found that the FW 190A-5 series by Fieseler commenced with W.Nr. 015 7201 and ended at 015 7375. The next series came with W.Nos in the new six-digit RLM series commencing with W.Nr. 71 0001 - 71 0015 and 71 0063 - 71 0069. The first two digits were issued to identify the producer and the type of aircrafgt to be built. The number 71 identified FW 190A-5 production by Gerhard Fieseler Werke.

Re: Fw190A-6

I hv found also the 71 0068 at Aalborg on 1944

The number 71 identified FW 190A-5 production by Gerhard Fieseler Werke.

When they started the system ?? Do you know other examples like
71 = A-5 Fieseler ??

Dropped very soon as 71 is also found on Ju88G-1/Bf109G-8/Me410B

Re: Fw190A-6

I have attached a copy of a page of the document issued by Focke-Wulf giving the first two digits of the six-digits Werk-Nummer series in the left column. By using this it is possible to identify all producers of FW 190 aircraft.
