Why did 10./JG 2 bomb a school in Catford?

What would be the purpose of making these distinctions?
Are you suggesting different uses had different origins?

'Ground attack' is a catch-all phrase for anything that is not air-attack for air superiority purposes, although Heinz Knoke of JG 1 famously turned his Me 109 into a Jabo to bomb a formation of B24s attacking Wilhelmshaven on March 22, 1943 - making it a unique (?) non air-superiority air attack.

2 TAF Jabos distinguished only between ground attack over the battlefield and ground attack beyond the battlefield in the 'rear areas', when they were on armed recce (freie Jagd) or specifically targeted.

Jabo use morphs into that of the Schnellbomber (Mosquito/Pe 2/Ju 88/Ar 234) or even the Yak 9B Jabo which was a different design from the fighter and carried its bombs internally, vertically behind the pilot.

Or am I missing something in your comment?
