Reference on ZG 26 Horst Wessel

Hi,
I'm looking for any reference materials on this unit. I'm particulalry interested in it's performance in 1944.
Best regards,
fanatyk6

hmmm,

Luftwaffe in Colour, Zerstorer volume II should be of help, Teil 3 and 4 of Meyer/Stipdonk Zerstorer und Nachtjaegdverbanden has nice photos.
And there is ZG 26 history in preparation, but with no deadline as far as I know...we have to wait

I for one would be very interested in a detailed ZG 26 "Horst Wessel" history, is there any news on publication at all?

Regards Richard.

No news. However, there is rare post-war book that goes up to September 1941.

Front cover is hand painted and laminated.
Pages seem to be photographic instead of printed. 60 Pages total.

Awards list including dates, EK I, EK II, KVK, Frontflugspange, RKT.
+120 portrait photos (Pilots, ground crew etc.)
Kriegstagbuch

Re: Reference on ZG 26 Horst Wessel

Hello!

Interesting bit of info edwest.

Does the Kriegstagbuch cover period 12th September to the end of September 1941? II/ZG 26 was the subordinated to Fliegerführer Ostsee at Pärnu, Estonia. I would be very interested about that part of the book.

Cheers,
Kari

Hello Kari,

I do not have this book. I copied this information from an old post from TOCH.
