5.JG26 Fw Borreck

On 3.september II.JG26 retreat from Melsbroek to Düsseldorf, after take-off they were attacked by P47, Hptm Lange was killed in the encounter, Ltn Groß wounded , seems fW Borreck made a 45 % hard forced-landing is more known about this case ??

Generally quoted ennemies Planes are P51, report of Borreck quote them as P47, Groß gave them as Spits...

Nd the other 2 ??? The first group was also "depleted" in the same action maybe a bit later, I wonder if...

Hello,

The 'new' version of this 'famous' combat will appear in the new JG 26 chronicle by E. Mombeek and J-L Roba... one more reason to buy it when published.

Borreck seemed to have crash-landed, maybe at Brustem airfield?

Any chance of an indication of what this new information reveals, or what the new source is?

I have an interest due to 41 Squadron's involvement.

Hello Steve,

New info's come through 41 Sqn day activity matched with ground eye-witnesses of those 3rd September 1944 air combats.
For further info's you may contact Montana.
