Re: fokke wulf 200
Dave, this is what I have F8+FL lost on 13-2-42 from an anti-shipping mission to the south of Ireland, the pilot Fw. Kurt Hinze is reported as dead. The rest of the crew were picked up on the 18th by U-587 on its outward voyage (U-587 lost on 27th March with all hands). Later on the 18th the crew were transferred to U-130 on its homeward voyage and landed safe. Have'nt got anything for the 15th,

Re: fokke wulf 200
Thanks Brian,
This can`t be the aircraft I was thinking of as being attacked on the 15th, you see I have a Liberator shot down off Cornwall on the 15th in error by Spitfires, but the pilots say it was a Fw200 so I wondered if there was one in the area prior to the friendly Lib being attacked, clutching a bit at straws with this one. Thanks again. Regards Dave. |

Re: fokke wulf 200
There were no FW 200s shot down by Spitfires off the UK or Ireland in WW2
