Re: Battle of Britain Bf109E found in India a few years ago?
This aircraft might have looked very similar to Bf-109E of 8./JG53 (Black 7+I) Piloted by Walter Fiel (WNr 5901) which crash-landed at Peckham, Kent on Oct ober 2nd 1940. Photos and details of this aircraft Here!
From previous research carried out on a JG53 aircraft that crashed on 30/9/40, JG53 had already started (on some aircraft) to repaint the Swastika back on the tails and Pik-as emblem on the cowling prior to the date the Indian 109 crashed. Clint
