Nachjagd airfields
Does anyone know where I can get details of the nightfighter airfields; specifically the location, no. of runways and orientation? Period 1943-44 in particular?

Re: Nachjagd airfields
Hi
I can highly recommend "Fliegerhorste" by Karl Ries & Wolfgang Dierich, Motorbuch Verlag Stuttgart, Stuttgart 1993, ISBN 3-613-01486-6 from where the 2 below scans are taken. You may also want to consult: http://members.aol.com/fliegerhorste/fliegerhorste.htm bregds SES Last edited by SES; 30th June 2006 at 08:43. |

Thanks SES, I agree about that site. After exhausting Googling I have also found some other useful sites + using Google Earth even!

Re: Nachjagd airfields
Hi Walt,
That is "der Tarnzahl" as you can see on the header on the large picture. The "cover number" for the airfield, used in radio communication instead of transmitting the name of the airfield in clear. For further information on German radio codewords you may also consult: http://www.gyges.dk/Operational%20brevity%20code.htm bregds SES Last edited by SES; 25th July 2005 at 19:04. |
