Re: Attack on Norwegian submarine chaser "Hessa" October 2, 1944.
You can allready rule out 423 Sqn RCAF, its Sunderland flew more west (over the Atlantic) and reported no attack this day (source: ORB From 541).
404 Sqn RCAF also didn't report any attacks but lost two aircraft and crew this day in a collision (source: http://www.404squadron.com/Oct1944.html) In this area 407 and 422 Sqn RCAF were also present with Coastal Command. I guess you know already that "Hessa" was used for the Shetland Bus between Norway and the Shetlands. |
