SD-2 over Britain

Hi:
First recorded instance of SD 2s over the UK was in Suffolk on 27.10.40 Several aircraft made low-level cloud-cover sorties in the Ipswich/Martlesham Heath area. Some SD 2s landed UXB in Ipswich, where 5 persons were killed after handling examples in urban areas. Others dropped at Sproughton, Nacton and Kelsale. Warnings regarding unexploded 'Butterfly bombs' were issued on 28.10.40 and the BBC broadcast a warning about them on 30.10.40
