Yes, it was 44-13958. Voss was in 44-13971 but don't have their code letters.

thank you all for your help. I have now the mission reports and Lt Bettin was indeed lost on Sept 23rd, 1944. Hit by flak over Deelen Airfield at 300 ft and exploded on the ground. The date of death of Oct 7th is still a mystery... It is possible that he died of wounds on that date, or that his body wasn't found until the 7th. I beleive the former, but am still looking into this..

I spoke with Florence Bettin and the family receive that Norman was killed 23th September 1944.He was on a P-51 Photo Recon Mission.I get from Florence more than 30 photos of Norman.At the 23th September it was a great disorder at Otterlo.
People from Arnhem evacuated to Otterlo,Harskamp and Barneveld.Its possible that the Germans find his body at October the 7th.We made a field research in the woods
of Otterlo / Hoenderlo and found pieces of aluminium.Norman get a place in my book From Dutch to Dutch.
