Re: Two interesting pis from Linz Hörsching, May 1945

FWIW, Me 262: The Production Log 1941-1945 identifies this aircraft as ex JV 44 with a red "X" applied to the tail. Crash landed at Linz on May 1, 1945.

Re: Two interesting pis from Linz Hörsching, May 1945

Hello,

Thanks Mark for these comments and Marc: So it wasn't an "ortho" film but a panchromatic film where Red appears white!

As for Chessboard; of course there is no such caption in your book I was talking about Astra comments and I said maybe he was refered to "chessboard like" camouflage.

As for "unusual camo" of course it wasn't the only one for a simple reason; This aspect was the result of rivet puttying and very thin paint coating as usual at the end.

Thanks anyway,

Regards, Franck.

Yes Luftquest,

But it was at Linz, not at Salzburg.
Same site you quote is giving WNr.111857 at Munich when it was at Innsbruck-Hötting .

So better follow TOCH to get good answers and not necessarily mine !!!!

Regards, Franck.

The Teller mine atop of the starboard engine is a nice addition.

Which makes me wonder if that picture wasn't how they found it before dragging it outside. Notice the fuselage of the He.111 behind it, which is also in the other picture. An interesting series if you ask me.
